When you define addresses for a subject, the system will attempt to identify a single location for each address. However, depending on the accuracy of your address information, the address search may return more than one matching location, or no location at all. As such, the platform may find no location, or the wrong location, for any given address.
To overcome this, inmydata provides you with a screen to view and edit the location assigned to each address in your subject data. To access the screen, follow these steps:
- Log in to inmydata.
- Select Settings from the user menu (this will only be available to admin users).
- Select Subjects from the tabs on the left of the Administrator Settings screen.
- Select the subject that contains your address data, and press the edit icon.
- Select the Mapping tab
- Select the address you wish to modify, and press the edit locations button (if the button is not enabled, commit any changes to the address definition and wait for the status of the subject to be complete)
The edit locations dialogue appears as follows:
To change the location used for a located address, do the following:
- Select the address in the address list panel on the left (if there are a lot of addresses, use the search panel to find the address you want to edit).
- If the desired location is shown as a blue marker, click on the blue marker to assign it as the given address.
- Alternatively, drag the red marker to the desired position on the map.
To change the location used for an unrecognised address, do the following:
- Select the address in the address list panel on the left (if there are a lot of addresses, use the search panel to find the address you want to edit).
- If the desired location is shown as a blue marker, click on the blue marker to assign it as the given address.
- Alternatively, click on the red button at the top of the map to add a red marker to the center of the map, and drag it to the desired position on the map.
