Sometimes it can be helpful to preview a sample of the data held in particular field(s). The Data Preview screen is designed for this purpose.

 

The Data Preview screen can be accessed from many locations within the inmydata client application

 

It may be available via a dedicated Data Preview button, or a right-click ("pop-up") menu option.

 

These locations are:

•Right-click of the column lists in the Select Fields screens of the Query Wizard
•Right-click of the columns in the Link Condition screen of the Link Wizard
•Right-click of the columns in the Subject Condition screen of the Lookup and Subject Wizards
•Right-click of the column lists in the Select Columns screen of the Subject Wizard.

 

 

The screen has options to print or export the displayed data to Excel.

 

The data grid has filter and grouping functionality similar to that found in Excel or other BI/reporting solutions.

 

You can change the number of rows returned. This defaults to 10 but may changed to any number (or zero for all rows). If you change this number it will be saved as a preference and used the next time you access the screen.

 

Select the OK button to close the Data Preview screen.
